RDL Introduces Consumer Input Jack Decora® Wall Plates

The D-CIJ3 is the ideal choice in installations requiring the passive mixing of two unbalanced line level audio sources to feed a mono balanced (or unbalanced) audio line. The D-CIJ3D is designed for installations requiring stereo unbalanced line level audio sources to feed stereo balanced (or unbalanced) audio lines.

The front panel of both products feature two gold plated phono jacks and a single stereo mini jack, intended for mono or stereo consumer level sources. An input signal may be connected to either the phono jacks or to the mini jack. The D-CIJ3 combines the left and right signal inputs whereas the D-CIJ3D retains stereo separation through to the outputs. Both products feature audio transformers that are configured to balance the signals and to reject induced hum.

An output is provided on the rear panel detachable terminal block of both products for connection to a 10 kΩ or higher input impedance line level module or equipment input.

Both products are available in a stainless steel finish (DS-CIJ3 and DS-CIJ3D).

RDL Introduces Stereo Headphone Amplifier in Decora Package

The D-SH1 Stereo Headphone Amplifier is an innovative new product from RDL. The D-SH1 is ideal for applications requiring headphones of any impedance to be driven from consumer or professional audio sources. The D‑SH1 is ideally suited to applications as diverse as language translation, museums, interview studios and music stores. The module mounts conveniently in a precut opening in a wood or metal enclosure or in various RDL Decora mounting accessories.

The D-SH1 is a dual channel headphone amplifier with balanced/unbalanced left and right inputs. Each input accepts operating levels between -20 dBV and +20 dBu. Two recessed slide switches located on the side of the rear enclosure are set prior to mounting the module. One switch is provided for setting the input sensitivity. The mode switch selects between stereo and mono operation. In the mono position, the left input is used to drive both output channels. When the module is used in a monaural system, only the left channel input must be wired. The front panel level control is a long life potentiometer controlling matched VCAs. Audio does not pass through this control, assuring years of noise free level adjustment. The output amplifiers deliver more than 50 mW into either high or low impedance headphones through a durable, metal ¼" (6.3 mm) standard headphone jack. Module operation is from a 24 Vdc ground referenced power supply. It can also operate from a 12 Vdc supply with a 6 dB reduction in headroom and a maximum output power of 10 mW.

The D-SH1 is also available in a stainless steel finish (DS-SH1).
